It's a annual social ice dance event held Columbus Day Weekend in San Jose with an emphasis on FUN that is sponsored by the Bay Area Ice Dancers (BAID). Our weekend has 10 hours of ice time that includes social dance and on-ice clinics. We dance to both traditional ISU and modern vocal music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday night is a theme night and costumes are encouraged, but not required.
Can't commit to the entire weekend? No worries! A la carte pricing available.
Our Friday night theme will be Mardi Gras for 2019.
We welcome skaters of all dance levels and ages. We mean it!
Did you pass all your gold dances and wish you could skate them again? We've got you covered.
Are you just starting dance? That's cool too!
The BAID ice Dance Weekend is open to all ice dancers and anyone who simply loves the sport. U.S. Figure Skating membership is not required to participate.
You can also wear whatever you like Friday night and the whole weekend - fancy skating dresses, jeans. Anything goes! Friday night is a theme night and costumes are encouraged, but not required.
Dance with a variety of partners. Ladies don't be shy about asking others out. If you don't want to dance, suggest another easier dance with that person. Watch out for the beginner skaters as they have less ability to control their moves and stop suddenly. If there is flighting (Sunday), dance when your color badge is called to help with congestion and safety for all to enjoy.
